3DISE Video Contest – Winner & Finalists Announced!
This year’s 3DISE Conference brought together the best in reality capture, and the Video Contest was no exception! The goal? Showcase how laser scanning, photogrammetry, and modeling come together in powerful visual stories using NUBIGON.
Numerous impressive submissions poured in. The three most popular social media entries advanced to the final round, where 3DISE attendees cast their votes live. The results? Outstanding work that raised the bar on how reality capture projects are presented.
Here are this year’s finalists—starting with the winner:
Edwin’s video won the crowd with its elegant storytelling and technical finesse. His project visualized a detailed building survey of Larki and translated it into a compelling visual narrative.
🎬 Highlights:
Clear presentation of classified point clouds in a building survey
Effective use of X-ray view to reveal complex spaces
Clay rendering that captures surface details beautifully
A seamless flow from point cloud to BIM
Integration of 2D plans into 3D scenes
And—not to be overlooked—powerful, well-chosen audio
👏 A masterclass in point cloud communication—turn up the sound and enjoy this winning entry!
Jeremy’s submission stands out for simulating a complex piping installation at an oil and gas facility. Captured with a Leica RTC360 scanner, the point cloud and related 3D assets were combined and animated in NUBIGON to simulate the project and enable a perfect execution by Wolverine Contracting & Engineering.
🔍 What it shows:
Piping laydown areas
Scaffolding requirements
Equipment placement (yes, even crane paths!)
And the trickiest piping spool installs
🎥 This is how simulation becomes storytelling. Thank you for your vision and dedication!
Aleksei’s project brings us to a penthouse in Yerevan, Armenia, scanned with FARO scanners across 68 stations. The high-precision point cloud guided interior design and renovation—delivered as a visual showcase in NUBIGON.
🎨 Standout features:
Photorealistic textures and X-Ray views
Intensy and clay rendering with PBR and ambient occlusion
Clip animation revealing 2D plans within the 3D environment
🇦🇲 One of the first to promote laser scanning independently in Armenia, Aleksei is now expanding his business scan3d.pro to Italy. We’re excited to see what’s next!
🎉 A huge congratulations to all participants. You’re helping redefine how reality capture is shared and understood—one frame at a time.
📽️ Stay tuned for the next edition. Until then, let these videos inspire your next project!
